Here are some of my picks:

A Wrinkle in Time
By Madeleine L'Engle. Science fiction. It's about traveling through different dimentions. Not just for kids but for everyone.

The Bronze Horseman and Tatiana And Alexander
Both are by Paullina Simons. Romance. Both books are thick and will be enjoyed by those who enjoy romance novels.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being
By Milan Kundera. General fiction but I think it should be read by "mature" audiences. The story isn't x-rated but it does revolve around a womanizer and I hardly think that's an appropriate subject matter for younger readers.

The Otori Trilogy by Lian Hearn, if you're into action, romance, fantasy, and samurais/ninjas.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, the best classic out there

Deltora Quest series I, II, and III, if you're into fantasy. They're really thin books, but goodness they're great books

Darren Shan books if you're into gothic/dark/macabre. The books are under Young Adult/Youth in bookstores here in Australia, but the plots are so graphic I reckon it shouldn't be in there.

Aaah!!! Jane Eyre! Ugh! I can never bring myself to like her! She caused Mr. Rochester to go blind!!!

Anyways, for a bit of culture, A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespear is nice and easy to read because it's only a few pages long and tons of footnotes are provided (I'm talking about the Bantam edition).

The Trilogy - Black, Red, White
~by, Ted Dekker.
It's about this guy named Thomas Hunter, who keeps waking up into another reality. Before, anybody else, he found out about a threat that could change the world, forever, and tries to stop it from happening.

If you're into christian fiction, this is a must have.

The Wheel of Time: The Eye of The World
~By Robert Jordan
The Wheel of TIme turns, and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

I didn't know how else to describe the book, so I wrote the summary that's on the back of it. n.n; It's really good, and a long series, but well worth it, I think. I also just finished the first book, and came to really like it, it almost turned into an obsession.

Personally, I suggest.

North South by John Jakes It is a trilogy about best friends that wind up on the opposite side during the USA's civil war. It is quite interesting, but I love really thick books cause they last a long time. I read very fast and finished the first one in about three days.

The Stand by Stephen King It is about the end of the world in the USA. It really isn't very scary, unlike some of his others. To me it sounds the most feasible then some of the other end of the world stories.

Da Vinci code by Dan Brown Yes, I know this is conterversal (not sure of spelling), but if you look at it as just a piece of fiction it is really good.

Outlander, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, The Firery Cross, Breath of Snow & Ashes by Diana Gabaldon This is probably in romance, but it is a very clean romance. For those of you that don't like romance, you will more likely enjoy this. It has time travel, war, good winning out, everlasting love. It is set in Scotland of the 18th or 19th century. I can't remember and I don't have the books here with me.

Thanks so very much,

^ Hehe. It's "controversial". Lately, I've been addicted to reading Japanese manga or graphic novels. Here's my list of what I would recommend.

Saiyuki
4 guys journey to the west to stop the resurrection of an evil demon. I just love these guys in love.

MARS
Romance. Ok, so the main girl character can get pretty annoying because she's such a crybaby and all but the story is sweet. Note: Too much drama.

The Wallflower
Comedy/Romance. 4 guys try to make a goth girl into a lady to get free rent. This is hilarious! And it's so outrageous what the characters can do.

Howl's Moving castle
By Diana Wynne Jones. Bought the book from Amazon on the 30th of November and I got it last Wednesday. Just had time to read it today and I finished it in 6 or so hours. I loved it! I only put it down so I could eat. I watched the movie before I read the book and I must say that I prefer the book. There's so much detail to it that the movie omitted or changed.
